We all have our personalities, and these are based on our characteristics, values, behaviours, cognitions, and emotional patterns. Our personality is shaped by a person’s upbringing and external environmental factors.
To investigate my personality traits, I completed a personality test that considered each aspect of my behaviours and how I deliver myself personally and professionally. Overall, my result came back as ‘Consul Strengths’, it showed I have strong practical skills of managing day-to-day tasks and I make sure those that are close to me are looked after. This links into the next heading of a strong sense of duty and where I will work hard to meet my responsibilities. I was pleased to see one of my strengths was someone who is very loyal and trustworthy, for me this is a personality trait I am passionate about. I am always conscious not to hurt people’s feeling and careful not to offend anybody. Being a team player helps achieve goals either in a work or personal environment and is something I will build on during my future career. People that know me professionally and personally would echo I have no problem with small talk, in my opinion this helps to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds.

It was interesting to see observations where a ‘Consual’ has areas to consider reflecting on. Bringing the first four headings together; Worried about Their Social Status, Inflexible, Reluctant to Innovate or Improvise and Vulnerable to Criticism. It was interesting to see these topics and on reflection I do partially agree and will need to think about why I am like this. I believe it is because I always want to look my best and for everything to be perfect, we do not live in a perfect world so I need to remind myself of this and be open to feedback. I think the personal trait of ‘ Often Too Needy’ links in with the previous four and I am often after reassurance, either on my appearance or that I have made the right decision.
The following diagram shows personality traits per genartion.
